The StanJames.com Guineas Festival is Newmarket’s showcase event featuring the first two classic races in the British racing calendar, the StanJames.com 2000 Guineas and the StanJames.com 1000 Guineas, and is staged at the outstanding Rowley Mile Course. The Rowley Mile is an unusual race track, not only for its remarkable endurance - it has been hosting race meetings for three-and-a-half centuries - but because it is mainly a straight. It measures one mile and two furlong; and is home of an infamous feature referred to as 'The Ditch'. Formed by the last four furlongs of the track - first two furlongs downhill then the final two furlongs uphill - the Ditch calls for the contenders to mobilise the last of their resources to make it across the line. Since its opening the course has remained largely unchanged, with exception of the stands.
Newmarket is unique in that it has two racecourses which it alternates the action between. The first is the Rowley Mile, used as a grand stage in the spring and autumn months and used for the 1000 and 2000 Guineas Days. The other is the countryside July Course and is used specifically for the high-summer season, supplying an atmosphere likened to an enormous garden party.

Executive Boxes
Only available at The Rowley Mile, our Executive Boxes located on the top level of the Millennium Grandstand can cater for up to 40 guests, whilst larger parties can book multiple boxes.
There are now three packages available for the Executive Boxes, VIP, Premier or Classic.:

Hospitality Marquees
Our trackside marquees on the July Course offer great hospitality and viewing for a wide range of party sizes.Larger groups (starting from a minimum of 20 people depending on the individual race fixture) can enjoy their own private marquee but smaller groups can be catered for within a shared facility.
